On March 18, the Malik Gabdullin Museum hosted an award ceremony for the winners of the competition for young artists "My Independence", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The purpose of the competition: to promote the country’s independence through the manifestation of the creative imagination of students, to increase interest in art and improve the skills of children prone to drawing.

14 participants from the city schools applied for the competition. A total of 27 students took part in the competition.

The competition was held in two stages. At the first stage, the contestants presented their works to the museum in A3 format. According to the regulation, the works of students, selected by the decision of the jury meeting from the first round, moved to the second. At this stage, the participants presented a video demonstrating the drawing process.

At the end of the second round, a jury meeting was held and the results of the competition were summed up. The third place was taken by Laktyushina Lilia — a student of school №15, a student of school №4 Schastlivaya Evgeniya won the second place, and the first place of honor was won by Esmukhanbetova Zhansaya — a student of school №10. Students of secondary schools №1 and Krasnoyarsk №2, №3 were awarded in the nominations "Subject composition", "For imagination", "For drawing technique". Mentors who prepared students for the competition were awarded letters of thanks.
