On December 11, in the regional specialized boarding school №3 for gifted children, a regional competition of the epos readers "Koblandy Batyr" was held among students of grades 5-11. The organizers of the competition dedicated to the 100 th anniversary of M.Gabdullin were the education department of Akmola region and the M.Gabdullin museum.

The main goal was to promote the creativity and scientific works of the Hero of the Soviet Union, academician, writer M.Gabdullin, to popularize the genre of art reading, to instill love for the native land. 20 young reciters took part in the competition.

The competition turned out to be bright and spectacular. Children, teachers and parents were very responsible for the preparation of the competition. Performances were evaluated on a five-point system. When giving marks, the jury members paid attention to the ability to pick up the thread of the plot and continue the story, knowledge of the text, expressive reading, costumes. Participants were awarded medals, diplomas, valuable gifts, letters of thanks.

The winner of the grand prix was Tokanov Sanzhar from Burabay region, the first place was awarded to Omirzak Bauyrzhan from the Astrakhan region, the second place was awarded to Kayyrgeldin Asylkhan from Kokshetau, the third place was won by Bereke Maral — Arshali region, Ergeldinov Bek — Sandyktau region, Konbai Erkasym from Kokshetau city. Teachers who prepared their pupils were also marked with letters of thanks.
