On May 5, the opening of the XVII traditional boxing tournament dedicated to the Victory Day and the memory of the Hero of the Soviet Union, academician M.Gabdullin took place in the regional specialized children's and youth school of the Olympic reserve No. 3 named after Kazhimukan. The Republican tournament will run until May 8.

The competition is attended by 117 athletes from Akmola, North Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Mangistau, Aktobe regions and the city of Nur-Sultan. The honor of the Akmola region is defended by boxers from the city of Kokshetau, Zerendy, Atbasar, Egindykol districts.
