Day of Remembrance for Victims of Political Repression

May 31 in Kazakhstan is declared the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repression and Famine. In the period from 1937-1938, over 103 thousand people were innocently convicted, more than 25 thousand were shot. During these terrible years, our people lost representatives of the intelligentsia, a huge blow was dealt to science and culture.

At the initiative of the Malik Gabdullin Museum, an event was held jointly with the public association "Unity of the country", dedicated to the memory of the innocent victims, a memorial prayer was read at the graves of the scientist, educator Nauan Khazret, the Hero's mother, academician M.Gabdullin Aliya Ospankyzy and the son of the prominent statesman Saken Seyfullin Ayan.

First, the main imam of the regional mosque "Nauan Khazret" Kuanysh Zhumabayuly read a prayer.

The event was attended by writer, journalist Aydos Abutalipov, director of the museum M.Gabdullin, chairman of the Akmola regional branch of the republican public fund "Heroes" Kudaiberli Myrzabek, scholar of Saken, chairman of the Saken Seifullin fund Serik Ospanov, chairman of the public association "Unity of the country" of the regional project office "Spiritual Revival" Mergen Toksanbay, telling about the life of the victims of Stalin's repressions.

In conclusion, flowers were laid at the graves.
