On this day, January 30, 76 years ago, Malik Gabdullin, a major in the company of machine gunners of the Panfilov division, was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union by the decree of the Supreme Presidium.

A series of events dedicated to this significant day began with the laying of flowers at the monument to M.Gabdullin. The flower-laying ceremony, organized by the Kokshetau Technical Institute, was attended by representatives of the city's intelligentsia and heads of higher educational institutions. For several years the Kokshetau Technical Institute has been doing a great job of promoting the personality of Malik Gabdullin. This was once again proved by the seminar on the topic "A hero and a scientist, science is life", held in the conference hall of the Institute.

The seminar was attended by: a student of M.Gabdullin, professor of the Department of Kazakh Literature at the Eurasian National University. L.N.Gumilyov, Ph.D. S.Negimov; scientific adviser of the military history museum of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, doctor of historical sciences Z.Samashev. They told in detail about the heroic deed of our famous fellow countryman, what kind of teacher he was. Then the action smoothly moved to the hall of the Akmola Regional Universal Scientific Library named after M.Zhumabayev, where a double event was organized by the Museum of Malik Gabdullin: the ceremony of taking the oath of new members of the military-patriotic club "Zhas Ulan" - "Heroic tradition - the continuity of generations”, also there was rewarding of the winners of the competition of essays in the format of short stories "Brothers of Abai, greats of the Kazakhs".

The oath was taken by the pupils of the Krasnoyar school-gymnasium №3, who arrived together with their teacher Esenbek Sabyrovich, a person who actively takes part in the upbringing of Young Followers of Gabdullin.

The director of the newspaper "Arga Azhary", public figure Zhabal Ergalievich Ergaliev congratulated the young students of “Zhas Ulan”, who were taking the first important step in their lives. His story about the exploits of the Kazakhs in ancient times and during the Great Patriotic War undoubtedly kindled in the hearts of the younger generation the desire to be brave and desperate.

The second part of the event was devoted to summing up the results of the story competition. For several weeks, pupils of the city's schools were writing and submitting their works to the competition of short stories "Brothers of Abai, greats of the Kazakhs". The purpose of the competition is to identify talented youth, future writers of our country. The results of the competition were announced on the eve of the significant date. So, on January 30, took place the ceremony of awarding the winners of the competition.

All submitted works were read and discussed by the jury.Among them there were the director of the newspaper "Arga Azhary", public figure Zhabal Ergalievich Ergaliev, journalist Gakku Asylbekkyzy, poet Kuanysh Ospanov.

Traditionally, the awarding ceremony began with the awarding of the 3rd place, which was taken by the student of secondary school №10 Amanbek Nursaule. She received a memorable gift from the newspaper "Kokshetau" together with a special diploma. The honorary second place was taken by a student of the school-gymnasium named after M.Gabdullina Burakanova Dilnaz. She was presented with a diploma and a memorablegift of the TV channel “Kazakhstan-Kokshetau”. An elegant statuette with the inscription “Zhas Kalamger” (a young writer) and a special diploma to the winner of the competition was given to a student of secondary school No. 6 Meruert Tusupbaeva. It was presented by the director of the newspaper “Arga Azhary”, a public figure Zhabal Ergalievich Ergaliev.

The organizers also paid attention to the teachers who prepared students for the competition. All the teachers received letters of thanks from the director of the Museum Malik Gabdullin Kudayberli Rakhymbekuly Myrzabek.
