Chairman of the Council of Veterans and Invalids of the Afghan War D.K. Ibrai lit a torch on the square near the Obelisk of Glory "Eternal Flame" and handed it over to the winner of the competition, a pupil of the 10th grade of secondary school No. 17 Baimaganbet Birzhan. He carried it through the city streets and lit the star "Honorary Star of Malik Gabdullin" at the bust of Malik Gabdullin.
